To open Paint.net (START - ALL PROGRAMS - PAINT.NET)

8th Grade:

• Canvas Size (800p width by 175p Height)
• Layers (At least 5 different layers)
• Graphics (At least one graphic/image with background erased)
• Text (Text must be present using Text Tool, or Copying letters from Word Art or Web)

Shark Tank (Week 1 Wrap-up)

This week you were given two assignments for your Shark Tank project. For today's assignment, make sure that you have completed the 5 questions using Word, and the Logo using Paint.Net.

Once that is finished, start to think about the types of products and/or services your company will provide. Search Google.com for examples, pictures, and ideas pertaining to your products or services. Ultimately, you will use these examples and pictures with Paint.net to form your own unique graphics for your company.

Image Editing Software

Some of you are familiar with a program called PHOTOSHOP. Am I right? Adobe Photoshop is an image editing software that has become a household name when it comes to designing graphics or editing pictures using a computer.

In this class, we have a program called Paint.Net that performs almost as many functions as Photoshop, but it is FREE. You can download the Paint.Net software at home if you would like, and take the things you learn in my class with you.

Shark Tank - Assignment 2

Make sure you have finished "Shark Tank - Assignment 1" listed on the blog below.

Shark Tank - Assignment 2 is as follows:

1) Today you need to finalize the actual name of your company, and use Paint.net to make 2 separate, professional logos.

• Logo 1 will just be the name or acronym of the company
• Logo 2 will be a graphic logo that includes a unique image or unique way of representing your company using the name or a graphic.

Today, you will be creating a company profile by using Microsoft Word to answer a few questions with complete paragraphs. Please answer the following questions about your company:

1) How did you and/or your partner think of or create your company?

2) What product or service will your company provide to consumers?

3) In what ways will your product or service differ from other products or services that already exist in this area?

4) What do you see as the biggest obstacle(s) for making your company successful?

5) What marketing and sales techniques will you use to promote your product or service?

Today, make sure you leave class with a solid idea of the type of company you would like to create. This company needs to be something that is very realistic. Make sure you have some ideas of names for the company as well.

What Is A Trade Show?

A trade fair (trade show or expo) is an exhibition organized so that companies in a specific industry can showcase and demonstrate their latest products, service, study activities of rivals and examine recent trends and opportunities.
